Witless Bay - East Coast Trail
One of the things they have along this side of Newfoundland is a trail system called the East Coast Trail and they are working to connect all the places along this part of the coast. It's a work in progress but we did this small part which is typical of this part of the Newfoundland Coast.
We all know how "vertically challenged" Cindy is, well on this trail, we came across a long suspension bridge .. and this is to show how well Cindy has been doing with being more trusting of gravity and engineering. She's done well at many of the trails walking along the cliffs also!!
Here we are along the East Coast Trail. We have been very lucky with the weather. There have been many days where rain was forecast but it would clear off by 10 or 11 o'clock.
One of many waterfalls along this section of the East Coast Trail. I'm working on my camera effects to get smoothing on the water (just playing around I guess).
Here are a couple of pictures to remind us why we hike these things. Along this trail we saw a golden eagle up close as it was flying to feed the babies. We could see the nest, hear the birds, but we were a long, long way from them. We liked this side of the island, but better things were to come as we moved to the Bonavista Peninsula for our next stay.
